Fall Theater Workshop play “Lost and Found” performed November 1

Dear LCTW families,

Hello! So the summer came and went…and unfortunately, we could not find a time to fit in our annual Theater Workshop!

I am directing more professional theater these days and this summer was packed! I started the summer off directing “Shrek” at Drury Lane Theatre. After that I stayed at Drury Lane to direct “The 39 Steps” for the mainstage, trekked up to Marriott Theatre in Lincolnshire to direct “Elephant and Piggie, We are in a Play!,” and ended the summer back at Drury Lane as the associate director of “Ring of Fire.” Now while I wouldn’t have it any other way, I missed all of you!

We didn’t want the year to go by without a theater camp! So we offered our first-ever Lombard Children’s Theater Fall Workshop. This workshop met for four weeks on Wednesday nights from 6–7 pm, October 11 through November 1, with a performance on November 1.  We were thrilled that 19 kids were able to come create a play together!

Stay tuned for our plans for future camps and workshops!

Linda in Holiday Inn at Lincolnshire Marriott Theater!
November, 2018 – January, 2019

Reviews from Holiday Inn:

It also comes with the ‘visits’ of two former occupants: Linda Mason (Johanna McKenzie Miller, an actress-singer-dancer of immense natural warmth and honesty, whose beautiful voice is among the show’s many highlights), and Louise (a sensational comedian and belter), the live-in repair person.”

~ Hedy Weiss, WTTW

…the main reason to see the show is Johanna McKenzie Miller’s performance as Linda Mason. Miller is a veteran of Chicagoland theater who has made her mark mostly as an actress. In “Holiday Inn” she not only acts beautifully as the schoolteacher bravely trying to put a brave face on her loneliness, but she is an expressive singer and a nifty dancer. It’s a complete performance that elevates a basically commonplace vehicle into an intelligent slice of entertainment every time she is on stage.”
